Local Community Zone Team - Neighbourhood 1

Zone Teams, employed by Colchester Borough Council, serve the needs of local communities. They work to improve local streets through cleaning, litter picking, emptying litter and dog bins and carrying out street-based maintenance. They provide environmental education, support, advice and enforcement to encouraging positive behaviour change and support local communities as part of consultation work and help coordinate and promote community events.

Birch comes within Neighbourhood 1 which is staffed by a Neighbourhood Manager, Neighbourhood Wardens, and Neighbourhood Operatives. Between them, they endeavour to support the local community and improve and maintain the areas covered in their neighbourhood. Residents' input is extremely valuable to the team which welcomes any suggestions as to how it can improve its local neighbourhood and aims to work with local residents to improve their environment.

Our Neighbourhood Manager is Fiona McDonald 07866 896614  fiona.mcdonald [at] colchester.gov.uk.

The temporary Zone Warden for Birch is Tim Pickard (see contact details below).

The Neighbourhood Warden primarily looking after Layer Breton/Mersea is Tim Pickard
